Battus philenor, the pipevine swallowtail or blue swallowtail was first described by the great Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus in 1771. Inhabits North and Central America, most commonly is found in forests, meadows and gardens where pipevine (Aristolochia)  grows.

The wingspan is 7-13 cm.
The pattern is suitable for brick stitch or peyote stitch.
I wove the butterfly using peyote stitch. And the thread way is shown for peyote stitch.
